GREAT NEWS, band families! The Braves games are once again going to be open to the public… and once again, Pope Band families have been invited to join those from Sprayberry in a great fundraising opportunity.
Now that there will be fans in the stands at Truist park again, folks will be needed to sell them stuff…and some of those folks could be you. We just found out volunteers can start as early as April 9th.
What do volunteers do?
In a market setting, volunteers will stock shelves, run cash registers, and provide customer service while earning money not only for our band as a whole but for individual student accounts as well.
What’s in it for you?
For each game worked, the band will be paid a percentage of that concession’s profit for that day. AND each volunteer will earn a set amount per game which will be deposited into their student’s band account. These funds can be used to pay for things like band fees and band trip costs!
How do I get involved?
To work at the park, you will need to complete a training event. The training is virtual this year and can be completed at your convenience using a link that will be provided. You will also need to obtain an alcohol permit. Permits are $30 which will be credited back to your student account after you’ve worked 6 games.
Once trained, you may sign up to work as few or as many games as you wish. In the previous season, some volunteers from Pope have worked enough to give a little boost to their accounts while others have paid off an entire marching season’s fees. The choice is yours!
Ready to jump in?
If this is an opportunity you’d like to explore, please email our Sprayberry contact person at braves@sprayberryband.com or contact Cyndy Dixon (a.k.a. Gage’s mom) at cyndydixon@yahoo.com with questions. We are so excited to have this opportunity again, and we hope you will get involved!
