Our good friends with the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony are having a concert tonight featuring the music of Bruce Broughton, a noted Hollywood composer.
Mr. Broughton has written the music for the films Silverado, The Three Musketeers, Lost in Space, Tombstone, The Rescuers Down Under, and dozens more. He did the music for Tiny Toons Adventures and J.A.G. as well as many other TV shows.
His wife, Belinda accompanied him on the visit. Belinda is a top call violinist in L.A., having just completed playing on the soundtracks of Godzilla and the latest Transformers movies.
Mr. Broughton talked to our students about his career, how the industry works, and also showed them rough film footage as he receives it. He then spoke about the creative process and showed the same film with music. It was a great presentation and our students were engaged and asked wonderful questions.
This is yet another example of how we go beyond the typical band experience to offer our students more....please spread the word!!!
