I received the following e-mail yesterday and it gives us the opportunity to give back to a dedicated band family at one of our neighboring schools:
Good afternoon band family,
I am writing to you with an update on our band parent, Mark Brown. I spoke with Mrs. Brown this morning, and she has been so thankful for the words of encouragement and support from the band community. As you know, Mark suffered a heart attack after the marching band's performance in Towson, Maryland on October 26th. He is still in critical care in St. Joseph's hospital in Towson, Maryland. While the doctors are optimistic of a recovery, we are aware that the road will be a very lengthy one for he and his family. At the moment, his wife, Sandy, has been at his side since the 26th, and has yet to come home. Their two daughters are back in school in Georgia and operating with help from family and community.
The family is hopeful of a medical transport to Georgia soon, but an exact date is yet to be determined. His health will determine the timeline of the transport. The hope is to transport him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta as soon as possible.
We have had many people ask about how they can help the family out. We know that being so far away from home is a major strain on the family, and I am writing to seek your help. It is obvious that the financial strain would be tough for any family, so we are asking for any donation you are able to share for the family. Gift cards are wonderful for them to use either home, in college or in Maryland. If you'd be willing to make a donation to their family, we will be glad to collect it and send them directly to the Browns.
You can send the donation to the McEachern Band (Attn: Brown Donation) to 2400 New Macland Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127
We certainly appreciate your help and collective efforts during this major time of need for one of our family members.
