We made donations to the "Big Thanks" letter campaign for the troops, Operation Stars & Stripes, and will announce very soon our monetary donation to the USO. This year has truly been a lesson in reaching out, being willing to give to others, and then receiving a lot of support in return. It is amazing what can happen when the focus is on the bigger picture instead of only personal gain.
We could not have had the season we had without the assistance of our many parent volunteers. Thanks to those who chaperoned, moved equipment, built props, handed out uniforms, or supported us in so many ways. Thanks also to those who attended the performances to cheer on the band!
This season proved truly special because the performance touched so many people on an emotional level. It is rare that you captivate an audience to the point of silent reverence....but that is what happened at every show. We had countless people approach us after a performance to say how much our show meant to them.
If you missed the performances this year, you truly missed out on a life-changing experience. Make it a point to get involved, get out to the shows, and see what these wonderful young ladies and gentlemen are doing. It is a positive in a world filled with negatives.
For those who chose not to be a participant this year,..it's never too late. Get on board next year and take advantage of the opportunity that you will only have while in high school. It would be a shame to look back 10 years from now and say "I wish I had..."
