​Help us spread the patriotic spirit in East Cobb and support the Pope Band!​

Pope Band is offering a wonderful service of installing American flags along the street on the front lawns of subscribers in observance of five patriotic holidays throughout the year. The flags are 3’ x 5’ on a 10’ pole.

The annual subscription cost is $75 per year for one flag in your yard, $50 for each additional flag. If you have a large yard, you may want to order multiple flags.

The PBPA and the students of the Pope High School Band will provide the flag, the holder and erect and remove the flag and pole in observance of 5 patriotic holidays – Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, September 11th and Veterans Day.

The flag(s) will be displayed before and after each holiday, for a minimum of 5 days.  Holidays may be combined if they fall within 2 weeks of each other.

A pvc tube flag holder is recessed into your yard so that it does not interfere with lawn mowing, typically 3 feet in from the curb.

We Need Your to Help with the American Flags Fundraiser!

The flags are 3’x5’ and on a 10’ pole. We are looking to expand into more neighborhoods within the Pope district this year and even to area businesses. If you feel your neighborhood would embrace the flag program please contact [email protected]. You do not have to live in one of our target neighborhoods to help! As we expand, we need more volunteers on the flag placement and removal team. Read on to find out more details.
 
Thanks in advance for your willingness to make Flags the next biggest fundraiser for the band! This one fundraiser has the potential to raise many thousands of dollars a year for the band with many subscribers renewing year after year, with funds that come from the community, not only from the band parents. The success of the flags fundraiser is only limited by the number of volunteers we get on our team. We need your help to make this program a huge success!

About the Flag Program:
We sell annual flag placement subscriptions to neighbors in the Pope High School district. We also hope to sell flags to businesses in the area. The flags are sold as an annual subscription at $75.00 for one flag, $50 for each additional flag. The flags are then set up in the customers' yards during 5 patriotic holidays:  Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, September 11th, and Veteran’s Day.
 
Since this is an annual subscription service we hope that the customer continues to renew for years to come.  If we provide a good product, the visual will be great and will allow the customer to support the band while displaying their patriotism.
 
Goal:  We just started this program in 2015 and 40 flags were sold at first. Our goal for this year is to sell 200 flag subscriptions and we are more than half way there! Every year, we plan to increase the number of flags subscriptions we sell!
 
How You Can Help:   Flag placement and removal team (adults and students can do this) and neighborhood outreach. If you feel your neighborhood would embrace the flag program please contact [email protected]. The possibilities for this fundraiser are only limited by the number of houses in the Pope district.
 
Flag placement and removal teams:  We need teams of volunteers to put out the flags and take them down for each patriotic holiday. With enough volunteers, it should only take about 1½ hours to set up and 1 hour to take down the flags. We will meet in a central location and each team will be given their flags and a list of addresses that are in the same general area to keep the driving to a minimum. Installations of the flag holder in the yard are already done and the curb is painted to make it easy to find. Teams can have adults and students. You do not have to live in the neighborhood to help! Can I earn Community Service hours?  Yes, Pope students can earn community service hours for volunteering for the flag placement/removal dates!
 
When are volunteers needed?  Once we have the exact flag placement/removal dates, we will contact our list of volunteers. Figure late May, about a week before Memorial Day for the 1st one. Removal the following week.
