Home Football Game Parking
Message for Football, Band, Cheerleading Parents
Parents and Pope Fans,
There is a great deal of excitement building around the start of the new football season....All three organizations have spent many hours working towards being their best this fall...I know many of you have driven miles and spent hours helping your son or daughter achieve the goals they have for this fall....With that being said, I wanted to ask for even more help and support.....
It is very obvious that the construction process has demolished our typical Friday night organizational patterns....A little discomfort is good in helping us make progress....Before I give you the plans for what a Friday night at Pope will look like this season, I want to ask you for a favor as you are a part of one of the three most vital organizations here at Pope.....
We will be shuttling fans from two separate locations for each game this year....We will have a shuttle station at Shallowford Falls Elementary School and another shuttle station at Hightower Trail Middle School....Parking at both locations will be free....Our favor of you is that you seriously consider (1) carpooling as much as possible AND (2) parking at one of these shuttle locations and riding a bus to Pope to watch the game.....What will this do?....Pope is known for its high expectations of sportsmanship and hospitality and by you parking off campus, you will be opening up one of only about 350 parking spaces for our visitors to use....Considering they do not know our local schools like we do, they will be more confused and less appreciative of having to park off campus....So, our plea, with you as a diehard Pope fan is to try something different and park at Shallowford Falls (easy 2 mile walk, also) or Hightower Trail.....Thank you for considering this option and showing tremendous hospitality to our visitors.....
Plans for Friday Night
Shuttle buses will begin running at 5:30pm each Friday we have a home game and will run continuously until well after the game.....the shuttle bus will dropoff and pickup at Pope in the bottom of the bus lanes....There will be sidewalk access to the stadium from behind the school....Two ticket gates and a pass list person will be back there to sell/take tickets....then, you will just walk across the practice field and up the steps and around the track to the home side....
Also, from the front lot (or if you walk around the front of the school), there will be sidewalk access from the stonewall back to the stadium...We will have two ticket gates and a pass list on this side near our current gym to accommodate fans....Walking and HANDICAP access will be available from this area....(Handicap patrons who enter from the bus lanes can use the sidewalk all the way around the back and past the wrestling room and up the current ramps....)
Finally, another strong suggestion, would be to purchase tickets online in order to avoid lines and walk straight in (we will have scanners on both sides to admit you)....The games, including the scrimmage, should be posted soon on https://www.ticketracker.com/store?schoolId=1602 or click the ad at the top of the www.popeathletics.com website.....
