The Perfect Gift for Your Child
We’re all searching for that perfect gift for our kids this holiday season. What if you could give a gift that lasts a lifetime? That’s what many parents say about their child’s band experience—that it gave them skills and opportunities they couldn’t get in other classes. Some of our band parents share their thoughts here for you to consider as you work with your student to plan their schedule.
As parents we would do almost anything to help our children succeed. When I think of the band program, I think of it as an investment in the life skills of my son. There are lots of tutors and learning centers but none of them teach time management, physical and mental toughness, music appreciation, dedication, leadership skills, and the meaning of being part of something bigger than self. – Lisa M.
Why is my daughter in band? Because of the things she has learned being part of an organization where everyone is working toward the same thing and striving to be the best they can be individually to benefit the entire group. – Leanne F.
As freshman parents, we didn’t really know what we were getting into when our daughter “signed up for band.” We soon learned that it’s not just a class. There are one-time opportunities and longer commitments. Every kid can find something that fits them! – Tim
The Pope Band provides my two kids with incredible opportunities for leadership, musicianship, and friendship. The band truly becomes an extended family, both for the students as well as for the parents. – Karen A.
Instead of going through high school not talking with anyone because he’s so shy, our son has a solid group of friends he met in band. Filling out college and scholarship applications showed how many other skills he’s developed, too. Pope Band is so much more than a class. It’s a place for kids to experiment, to succeed and fail, and to prepare for their future. Don’t miss out on a moment of it all! – Mike
Will you be part of the adventure next year?
We hope so!
